Damien Noir — Between Worlds

光 | 作者自序

Light is not a symbol of hope, but a trace of life —
the warmth that remains after everything else fades.

There are moments that do not save us, yet they keep us human.
A friend’s quiet understanding.
A mentor’s single sentence.
A stranger’s kindness at the right time.
These are the small lights that have crossed my path — fleeting, but unforgettable.

This collection, Light, is an attempt to gather those illuminations.
Not grand gestures, not redemption stories,
but fragments of connection that softened the distance between myself and the world.

Here, light is both external and internal —
a reflection of warmth received and awareness regained.
It speaks of being witnessed,
of rediscovering gentleness after long estrangement,
and of learning to see again when everything feels dim.

The section Witnesses of Warmth belongs to this space —
friends, mentors, and moments that anchored me in humanity.
They reminded me that even in solitude,
the heart remembers how to respond to warmth.

To write about light is to acknowledge that it never truly belongs to us.
It passes through —
but for a brief instant, it lets us see ourselves clearly.
